1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. Headings in this document are included for ease of reference, and do not affect interpretation in any way.

2. The promoter is Qantas Airways Limited (ABN 16 009 661 901) of 10 Bourke Road, Mascot, NSW 2020 (telephone number +44 7740 078408(Promoter).

Duration

3. All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in London, United Kingdom on the date stated. The promotion commences at 00:01am on Saturday 1st September 2018 and closes at 23:59pm on Wednesday 31st October 2018 (Promotion Period).

Eligibility to enter

4. Entry is open only to those who are 18 years of age or over and is a resident of the United Kingdom. Entrants must be frontline travel sellers working for a travel agency or tour operator and booking third party tickets (Eligible Entrants), excluding directors, management, employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate and registered travel companions of employees of the Promoter and its related bodies corporate.

Entry into the promotion

5. To enter, Eligible Entrants must during the Promotion Period:

a) Make at least one Eligible Booking. An Eligible Booking is a booking which includes a minimum of two international sectors to/from Australia (excludes Trans-Tasman Sectors) booked as a QF code, QF operated only and Qantas 081 tickets only. Travel period is unrestricted. Bookings must depart from and return to the United Kingdom; and

b) Complete 3 modules on the Qantas learning hub. If the Entrant doesn’t have three modules left to complete, then the Entrant must complete all available modules. If they have already completed 100% of available modules, then they automatically meet this requirement as a thank you for their existing engagement with Qantas; and

c) Successfully complete 5 training modules of the Aussie Specialist Program. If they are already a qualified Aussie Specialist, then they automatically meet this requirement as a thank you for their existing engagement with Tourism Australia.

6. For each Eligible Booking, an Eligible Entrant will earn one entry for each person on the booking (infant tickets are not eligible) and only ticketed bookings will qualify. An additional bonus entry into the prize draw will be given for each person booked on an Eligible Booking if the booking contains at least one domestic flight within Australia operated by either Qantas or Jetstar booked using the Qantas Explorer Fare.

7. The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.

8. The time of entry will be deemed to be the time the entry is received by the Promoter.

9. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Eligible Entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process.Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Drawing of entries

10. There will be 8 weekly draws: one for each week during the promotion period. The draws will take place at 401 King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9NJ. The Weekly Winner will be drawn from the entrants who have submitted a valid entry within the dates as detailed below and will include all entrants from the previous weeks of the promotion period, including those who may have already won a weekly prize.

Week 1 will commence on the 1stSeptember and end on the 12thSeptember and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 14thSeptember.

Week 2 will commence on the 13thSeptember and end on the 19thSeptember and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 21stSeptember.

Week 3 will commence on the 20thSeptember and end on the 26thSeptember and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 28thSeptember.

Week 4 will commence on the 27thSeptember and end on the 03rdOctober and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 5thOctober.

Week 5 will commence on the 04thOctober and end on the 10thOctober and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 12thOctober.

Week 6 will commence on the 11thOctober and end on the 17thOctober and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 19thOctober.

Week 7 will commence on the 18thOctober and end on the 24thOctober and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 26thOctober.

Week 8 will commence on the 25thOctober and end on the 31stOctober and the prize draw will take place at 10:00am on the 02ndNovember.

The draw for the Ultimate Prize will take place at 10:00am on 7th November 2018 at 401 King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 9NJ and the winner will be drawn from all entrants across the full promotion period, including those who may have already won a Weekly Prize.

11. The draw will be conducted by the Promoter(Drawer). The result of the draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The prize

12. There will be 9 prizes in total which include 8 Weekly Prizes and 1 Ultimate Prize.The maximum total prize pool value is GBP£17,000, based on the recommended retail value and the exchange rate at the time of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prizes. 

13. The 8 Weekly Prizes are detailed as followed:

  • Week 6: Apple Watch Series 3 GPS, 42mm Space Grey
  • Week 7: A pair of tickets to see Jessie J in London on Tuesday 13thNovember 2018
  • Week 8: A Red Letter Day Voucher worth £300

The Ultimate Prize consists of:

  • A pair of return Business Class Tickets operated by Qantas from London Heathrow to the winner’s choice of Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide plus three economy domestic sectors within Australia booked using the Qantas Explorer Fare
  • Land contribution in Australia which must be booked through the NDL Group (ATOL Licence 5475) and will include a choice of hotels, excursions, transfers and/or car hire discussed at time of booking

Travel must be booked by the 30thJune 2019 and travel must be completed by 31stOctober 2019 with the following dates excluded for travel – 13 Dec 2018 to 06 Feb 2019 and 04 Apr to 08 Apr 2019. The prize is subject to availability at time of booking  

14. The prize include GST and taxes included in the price of the ticket. Unless otherwise stated, the prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes not included in the price of the ticket, ground transportation, flights, accommodation or any other costs of a personal nature. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize-winner and companion. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. Prize travel is subject to Qantas’ General Conditions of Carriage.

15. Prize travel and accommodation is subject to availability at the time of booking and prize travel is subject to availability of prize travel fares at the time of booking. The winners and their companions must travel together on all prize travel and will not accrue Qantas Points on any element of the prize. An upgrade cannot be purchased on airfares with cash or Qantas Points.

16. Prize travel and accommodation must be booked by 30thJune 2019. Prize travel and accommodation must be completed by 31stOctober 2019. There can be no changes to travel arrangements once tickets have been issued or accommodation bookings once the reservation is confirmed.

17. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter.  It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accept the conditions of use of that prize.

18. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

Notification of the winner

19. The winners will be notified by email within 3 days after the draw takes place and their names will be published in Travel Weekly, Qantas’ Monthly Wrap, Qantas Learning Hub, Qantas Agency Connect and Tourism Australia’s Aussie Specialist Newsletter.

Right of the Promoter to redraw

20. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant being unable to satisfy these promotion terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming a prize. For any prize that remains unclaimed 7 days from the time of the draw, a second draw will be conducted by the Drawer on the 8th day after the draw at the same time and place as the original draw from valid entrants at the time of the original draw, subject to any written direction given under applicable law. Any winners determined in accordance with this clause will be notified by email or phone within 3 days after the draw and their names will be published in Travel Weekly, Qantas’ Monthly Wrap, Qantas Learning Hub, Qantas Agency Connect and Tourism Australia’s Aussie Specialist Newsletter.

Limitation of liability and variation of terms

21. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations. The Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.

22. The Promoter, its related bodies corporate and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents (Promotion Parties) will not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs or personal injuries arising out of this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, including but not limited to any breach of these terms and conditions, contract or tort (including negligence) and any other common law, equitable or statutory remedy (Damages) whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential Damages, including Damages that cannot reasonably be considered to arise naturally and in the ordinary course of things, even if those Damages were in the contemplation of the Promotion Parties.

23. The exclusion of liability in clause 22 does not apply to limit or exclude liability:

a) for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the supply of goods or services which are supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business. To remove doubt: third party goods or services, which other than in connection with this promotion, are in the normal course of business supplied by a third party unrelated to the Promotion Parties, are not supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business; and the Promoter’s Conditions of Carriage and general booking conditions (and any exclusions contained therein) apply despite any statement to the contrary in these terms and conditions; or

b) to the extent it is not permissible at law to limit or exclude liability in the manner contemplated in that clause (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).

Entry details and privacy

24. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. The name and photograph of the winner may be used for promotional purposes by the Promoter, unless the winner otherwise notifies the Promoter at the time of accepting the prize. Entrants consent to the Promoter using personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes (including to third parties involved in the promotion and any applicable statutory authorities) and to conduct marketing activities. Without limiting the foregoing, entrants’ personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Statement, visit qantas.com/privacy to obtain a copy.

Tax Implications

25. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.

Fringe Benefits Tax

26. Receipt of a prize may have Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) implications.To the extent that there is any FBT liability, this will be paid for by the employer of the recipient.  The grossed-up value of a prize and any other Fringe Benefits the recipient receives during the course of the FBT year may be reported on the recipient’s annual PAYG Payment Summary as required by taxation law. 

Prize Terms and Conditions

27. Trip is subject to availability at the discretion of the organiser, must be booked 3 months in advance and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays and Bank Holidays (both UK and Australia). Trip is based on a maximum duration of 14 nights in 3 destinations of the winner’s choice only.

28. Includes one pair of return Business Class tickets operated by Qantas from London Heathrow to the winner’s choice of Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide. Plus, two economy domestic sectors to the winner’s choice of Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Uluru, Cairns, Kangaroo Island, Exmouth or Hobart. Should the winner choose to travel to Kangaroo Island, an additional domestic sector will be provided between Kangaroo Island and Adelaide. The winner will then travel to the next destination from Adelaide. All flights will be supplied by Qantas and will be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.

29. It is the winner’s responsibility to comply with the visa requirements of Australia.Approval is at the discretion of the Australian Embassy and NDL Group cannot be held responsible for this being rejected.

30. Includes the winner’s choice of 3 x return transfers from the airport to the winner’s hotel (one in each destination) or 2 x return transfers as described above plus a maximum of 4 days fully inclusive car hire.

31. All transfers may not be private and may be shared with other passengers.

32. Where car hire is included driver must be over the age of 25 and have held a full clean driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years. Fully inclusive refers to unlimited mileage, collision damage waiver, theft protection, local taxes and airport fees.  Driver must also hold a valid credit card (not debit card) with a minimum of between £500- £1,000 (dependent on car hire company) available for security deposit, which is refundable upon safe return of the vehicle. For the avoidance of doubt, one-way fees are not included and must be paid locally by the winner at their own expense.

33. Hotels are classed as 3 Star minimum and are based on 2 adults sharing a double room with en-suite bathroom on a bed and breakfast basis. Twin rooms can be requested but cannot be guaranteed. Trip will include a maximum stay of 4 nights in Sydney and/or 2 nights in Uluru, should these locations be selected.

34. Includes a total of 2 x activities. All tours, experiences and tickets are based on 2 adults and are subject to availability and weather conditions. Age, height and weight restrictions may apply. Winner will be provided with a choice of pre-selected activities. Winner must choose from the provided options. No alternatives will be provided.

35. For the avoidance of doubt, travel insurance is not included in the prize.

36. Trip must be booked by 30thJune 2019 and completed by 31stOctober 2019.
